First of all, what is a sentence?
- Every sentence must have a subject (who or what the sentence is about) and a predicate (what the subject is like or doing).
- A sentence must always have at least one INDEPENDENT CLAUSE, is a complete thought and makes sense.
INDENDENT CLAUSE - a group of words that has a subject and a predicate, and makes complete sense.

Types of Sentences: There are three types of sentences we will learn and use this year....simple, compound, and complex. These three different types of sentences combine one or more clauses.
